Reorganization of logistics
How do I organize the Supply Chain in order to achieve our growth targets?
The client: An internationally operating food manufacturer. Through various acquisitions, the Supply Chain of this company has grown to become very complex with a large number of European production sites. Despite the clear objectives and proper international strategy, the logistics implementation leaves plenty to be desired.
The question: How do you optimize the logistics in such a way as to be able to effectively serve all your international customers?
The TEN solution: An inventarisation was made on the current workflows surrounding physical goods, as well as import and export documents, invoices and other certificates, both internal and outbound. After interviews with several employees, the key bottlenecks were identified. Shortly thereafter, TEN proposed a new, more efficient way of working which was accepted by the management. The implementation involved a partial outsourcing of logistic services and a new, centrally-driven internal process, from order processing to billing. As a prerequisite relevant government organizations were also involved in the process.
The result: Within six months, the logistical and operational structure was effectively changed to accommodate the ambitious goals.
